The Analytics Network, part of the Operational Research Society, invites you to join to our next event that will take place at London Business School.

On this occasion, we will be hosting different speakers covering a wide range of topics, each followed by a Q&A. At the end of the event, there will be plenty of time for networking

Timetable:

1st Speaker: Paul Laughlin, Founder of Laughlin Consultancy Ltd
Talk: The People Skills that Analysts need to succeed”:

This talk will cover four main points:
-The need for more action on analysis
-Why technical skills are not sufficient
-The 9 step model for effective Analysis
-Walking through the People Skills you need to master

2nd Speaker: Jacqui Taylor, CEO and Founder of FlyingBinary Ltd
Talk: Data Visualisation, is it an art of a science?

Dr Jacqui Taylor the co-founder of the datajournalism industry and CEO of FlyingBinary will share the data journalism work they do in FlyingBinary to communicate with an audience of 34 million people across the globe. She will explain some of the top tips from FlyingBinary's hugely popular ORS training courses attended by hundreds of ORS professionals.

3rd Speaker: Gerard Crispie , UK & Ireland Lead, Data Science Guild at Cognizant
Talk: Automatic Design of Gas & Oil Rig Under-carriage – a Case Study of Innovation to Production

The project started with figuring out the right analytical approach and then progressed to implementation in an high performance cloud computing environment alongside enabling the key uses to control the optimisation as part of their daily job.
